An Interview with Lady Di"
Oct 12, Oct 25, & Nov 7
"An Interview with Lady Di" Staged Reading By Carol Marquart

Diana, Princess of Wales, is at a turning point in her life.
Not yet officially separated from her husband, Prince
Charles, Diana has invited “downmarket” tabloid writer,
Jayne Morgan, to Kensington Palace for what she calls, “a
girlie talk.” They gossip. They share a few off-colored
jokes. Diana is everything Jayne imagined her to be:
charming, down-to-earth, glamorous and witty. Then things
get serious. At the end of the interview comes an unexpected
revelation.

His ambitious mother attempts to carve him a path to power yet he struggles to change his nature and do what is required to achieve greatness. Now he must decide who he really is and where his allegiances lie  in a new city state struggling to find its feet, where the gap between rich and poor widens every day.

Legacy of Light

Oct 27 - Nov 11
"Legacy of Light" By Karen Zacarias Western Stage STUDIO THEATRE

An intellectual joyride confronting a universal question

Two women scientists, living hundreds of years apart, explore the meaning of love, motherhood, family, art and science in this contemporary comedy. Legacy of Light juxtaposes the story of an 18th Century mathematician and scientist, who became unexpectedly pregnant at 42, and that of a 21st-century physicist desperately trying to conceive a child.  Legacy of Light, equates the laws of physical science with human love and uses magical realism in some dreamlike moments to draw together serendipitous stories.

The Drowsy Chaperone

Nov 10 - Dec 8
The Drowsy Chaperone,  Music & Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar
Western Stage  MAINSTAGE MUSICAL, Nov 17 {GALA}
Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score,

Hilarious Musical Farce

A loving send-up of the frivolously inconsequential stage musicals of the Jazz Age, a fan known only as Man in Chair gives a spin to the original cast recording of one such musical.  The recording comes to life. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight. A bona fide madcap escapist American musical comedy.

Harriet Lynn/Heritage Theatre Arts Consortium will be directing a historical play for The Monterey Museums & Cultural Arts Commission. An exciting one-day outdoor re-enactment near the Custom House in Monterey on Saturday, Nov 18.

The raid on Monterey by the Argentine revolutionary Captain Bouchard in 1818 is the only land/sea battle in California's history. On 24 November, 1818, before dawn, Bouchard landed in Monterey. The Spanish fort resisted ineffectively, and after an hour of combat the Argentine flag flew over it. The Argentines took the city for six days, during which time they stole the cattle and burned the fort, the artillery headquarters, the governor's residence and the Spanish houses. To round out the living history event, The Lady Washington sailing vessel will be docked at the Monterey docks.
