The Listening Place Readers Theatre is pleased to present THE VOICE OF THE PRAIRIE by John Olive.  David Quinn, a gifted story teller and con-man Leon Schwab set out across the mid western prairie during the early days of radio, telling stories and selling radio sets at inflated prices.  David is riffing about a wonderful journey he took in the 1890s with Frankie the Blind Girl.  Through the new medium of radio he finds himself reunited with Frances, a blind school-teacher — and a new adventure ensues.  But while he takes his rural listeners on a ride of romantic dreams and magical journeys,  Leon’s station is operating without a license and the FCC is closing in…

Directed by Robin McKee and produced by Linda Hancock

"Steel Magnolias", by Robert Harling. Directed by
Kelsey E Posey. Paper Wing MAIN Stage

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad

The Diary of Anne Frank"
Dec 7 - 15
Carmel High School Drama presents "The Diary of Anne Frank"

The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most famous and haunting stories to emerge from the 20th Century. The memoirs of this young Jewish girl, forced to hide for nearly two years to escape Nazi persecution, are an essential part of how we remember one of the darkest periods of our human history.
