This level of dues includes:

Theaters/venues who's primary purpose is to offer classes for youth, the end result of a

class being the production of a play, e.g. Ariel Theatre, would fall into this category


Producer with Classes  -   Theaters or producer producing at least one production a year

The Monterey County Theatre Alliance (MCTA) is a non-profit organization open to anyone interested in live theatre in Monterey County.


With a focus on community outreach, the MCTA addresses issues of administration, media, education, accessibility, audience development and other concerns related to the theatre.​

We facilitate communication and resource sharing among Monterey County Theatre groups, individuals, and the community, to develop an increased theatre awareness and a larger theatre-going public.  We also attempt to nurture the talents and resources of the theatrical community.​


Our current Programs:

  • Monthly newsletter, The Back Stage
  • Actively managed Web Site, TheatreMonterey.org, where you find listings of current and future productions, audition announcements, special classes, and new Programs and activities
  • FaceBook page with listings for current productions
  • Two for one tickets from some of our local theatres.  See list above.
  • Two $1000 scholarships per year to high school or community college students studying theatre arts
  • Hands-on Technical Theatre Workshops, including training at Montery County performance theatre venues.

Membership in the MCTA renews annually on January 1st. New members are invited to join any time.

  MCTA's Board of Directors

The board meets  at 5:30 PM on the 3rd Monday of each month . Meeting locations usually alternate between PacRep's Golden Bough  - Monte Verde between 8th and 9th - Carmel, and Western Stage's Green Room, Western Stage on the Hartnell Campus, 411 Central Ave., Salinas, CA. All are welcome to attend.  Current Board meeting schedule is:
